Haylie's 4th Birthday

It's hard to believe she is 4 because she is so tiny. We threw her her first friend party. We promised the kids when we moved we'd let them have big birthday parties with old friends and new friends. Wow do we regret that! Just kidding, but seriously the party was a bit nuts. 12 3-5 year olds made for a crazy hour. But with musical colors, duck, duck, goose, and cupcake decorating we did survive. Haylie had so much fun. Then we had the traditionally family/best friend party that night. It was a very fun day.



Addison had a lot more fun with the cake and ice cream at Haylie's Party than she did at her own. She had double ear infections on her birthday and wouldn't even eat her cake, but she felt better here and loved Haylie's cake.

Easter Outfits

I loved the Easter outfits I found for the kids this year. The only problem was that we have 9 am church and Kalun, Kyli, and I were all speaking so we didn't have time in the morning to get pictures. By the time church got over and we were trying to take pictures the kids weren't very excited, they were just hungry. Addison was especially difficult. I have this dream of the perfect picture, it definitely did not happen this day, oh well. I did think we all did a good job on our talks and we did enjoy the rest of our day.

Easter 2011

We decorated eggs, had egg hunts, and then had lots of family night lessons on the real importance of Easter.



This is Addison with her little cousin Britney. They looked like little twins.

Soccer

Tate and Haylie are both playing soccer this spring. It has been a very cold season. This is the first time both of them have played. Tate has really caught on and is really doing good. He has learned that being faster than everybody is really cool. Haylie started out terrified and would only go on the field if the coach held her hand, now she is doing better and even kicked the ball in a game finally. Kalun is coaching Tate's team and they both love it. The only down side is that their games always overlap. So I only get to see a little of Tate's and then we leave and go to Haylie's. Then after Tate's, Kalun and Tate come and watch the last few minutes of Haylie's. It's been a little hectic, but the kids have had fun. Next comes swim lessons, T-ball, and gymnastics...I get tired just thinking about it! But the kids always have a blast so here we go...

Forts

When I was little we used to love to make forts. Well so did Kalun. Apparently the gene has been passed on...the kids always want to make forts. So Kalun finally made a huge one it was even fully equipped with a kitchen. The kids loved it, we left it up for quite a while. Finally I couldn't take the mess any longer and took it apart to clean and vacuum, there were some very unhappy kids that day. Now we always have blankets around the bunkbeds, that's a lot less messy version on a fort, it does not however come with a kitchen.

Disneyland

Addison's First Birthday

Addison turned one in Disneyland. We spent the entire day there. We took one present and gave it to her. Then we stopped at an ice cream shop in Disneyland and got Ice Cream Sundays and cookies. After we got home we invited the grandparents over and had cake and opened the rest of her presents. She wasn't a big fan of the cake like my other kids. But she loved eating ice cream. Time has gone by so fast, I can't believe my baby is one!!

Jr. Jazz

Tate really liked basketball, he said he liked it even more than football. Which hurt Coach Kalun's feelings for a minute, but he recovered. He was pretty timid in the first few games since he had never played. But Kalun started taking him to practice and they would play with older kids and Tate all of the sudden figured it out and got pretty good by the end. He was making baskets, and dribbling like crazy, but he's best talent was defense, no one could score on him. Tate and Haylie are starting soccer soon, I'm really excited. I love being a "soccer mom" and going to watch my kids play sports, it is so fun

Kalun's B-day

For Kalun's birthday we went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse, then we made him get on the saddle while everyone sang to him, too bad he never gets embarassed. He loved the attention. I would've hated it. Then Tate had a basketball game. Our friend dressed up like Lenny the Lion (Lehi Legacy Center's mascot) and came out and brought Kalun balloons, the kids loved it. Kalun had no idea it was our friend dressed up, it was pretty funny.

Big Al Jefferson

We got some tickets to go to a Jazz meet and greet. Kalun decided it was a great chance for a boys night. I was a little jealous I'm not gonna lie, but they had so much fun together. Tate is turning into a mini Kalun and has started to really watch and cheer for the Jazz and BYU. He thought it was so awesome to go meet a Jazz player. He thought he was HUGE!
